The human sexuality task group exists to enable the diocese to respond and attend to issues of human sexuality as they arise. It is a group that attempts to include different positions and attitudes within the Anglican tradition so as to reflect the wider church. It meets once a year to have an overview of the diocesan and wider church picture and more frequently when required to do a particular piece of work.
It comprises Mike Benwell, Steve Smith, Gabrielle Syme(Chair), Kevin Ward, Adrian Alker and Kathryn Fitzsimons. It has contributed to the running of several events exploring how we live with diversity within the church including a Lent course, diocesan days and clergy study days as well as providing speakers for particular parish events.
