Philip Arundel  (pictured left, with the Dean of Ripon, Very Revd Keith Jukes), who recently retired after fourteen years as Ripon and Leeds Diocesan Secretary, is to be the new Canon Treasurer of Ripon Cathedral. He officially takes up this post following an installation service to be held at Evensong on Sunday 16th January at 5.30pm.

Philip brings a wide range of expertise to the Cathedral. Before his tenure as Diocesan Secretary, he spent thirty years working for a variety of companies in the petrochemical industry.

As Canon Treasurer, he will be responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of Chapter, and will be the Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. "I'm really looking forward to the prospect of working with colleagues to address the financial challenges ahead", said Philip of his new role, "so that we can enhance the mission of the Cathedral."

Philip lives in Boroughbridge, and enjoys walking, music, and spending time with his three grandchildren.
