Churches strengthened as new Readers licensed

Nine men and women from across the diocese have been licensed as Readers at a special service in north Leeds, led by the Bishop of Knaresborough.  

Family and friends filled St Chad’s Far Headingley, following a 24 hour retreat for the nine,  led by the Revd Susanne Jukes.  

The new readers are (front l-r) Barbara Hardy (St. Luke, Holbeck), Joan Plowman (St. Mary Richmond), Bishop James, Abbie Palmer (St Chad Headingley), Hilary Hawes (Masham and Healey), and (back l-r) David MayMiddleham with Coverdale and East Witton), Nathan Dring (Moor Allerton), Tony Harper (Burmtofts and Harehills), John Watson (Moor Allerton) and John Porter (St Margaret.
