Mothers’ Union in Ripon and Leeds is part of a worldwide Christian organisation with more than 3.6 million members in 79 countries. We are passionate about caring for people all around the world as we respond to the challenge to “love mercy, seek justice and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8).

The aim and purpose of the Mothers’ Union is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of family in its many forms. Mothers’ Union members are involved in a range of activities, all of which are linked to our five key objectives:

• supporting and promoting marriage
• encouraging parents in their role to develop the faith of their children
• maintaining a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service
• promoting conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children
• helping those whose family life has met with adversity

Our work is threefold:

• a diverse range of Mothers’ Union programmes (local, national and international) to meet the needs of individuals and families
• ·our policy work challenges root causes of injustice
• ·all of our work is underpinned by our Christian faith

Membership is open to anyone, male or female, single or married, providing you have been baptised as a Christian and support our aims and objectives.
