Exploring Evangelism - becoming disciples of Jesus Christ: Questions for your church
Bishop James Bell writes:

TO PROCLAIM AFRESH….JESUS CHRIST
That’s the core of the aim of the Evangelism Strategy adopted a few days ago by our Diocesan Synod. Synod could hardly have declined to adopt it! It is lifted straight from the Declaration that is made by every ordained minister in the Church of England – at ordination and on taking up each and every appointment.
What will encourage and enable us to get to grips with that calling, to deliver our ‘core business’? It seems to me that is a question that might need to be asked before we ask any other questions or do any other business. In the next few months, PCCs and congregations will be offered some more questions that could usefully be asked, like:
What would our wider community miss if we weren’t here?
How are people helped to grow spiritually here?
