Ministry in the Deaf community is a particular and important part of our Christian care and support to those who are profoundly deaf. The ministers in the Deaf community are there to support deaf people and to offer advice and help to parishes in order to ensure the full inclusion of profoundly deaf people in the life of the Church.
The Revd Rachel Wilson and the Revd Bob Shrine (pictured above) serve our diocese, as well as the Dioceses of Bradford and Wakefield.

In Leeds the Centre for Deaf and Blind people has a long and proud record of serving the needs of profoundly deaf people in this part of our diocese and regular services are held at Centenary House in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
They aim to enable members of the Deaf community to play a full part in the life of the Church, and to find appropriate new ways of being church.
